Our local parish used this series for a men’s apologetics group to great success. The series can be a little pricy but it does offer a lot of content. In its 9 booklets you go over how to defend the Trinity to Jehovah Witnesses, answer Muslims, defend the Eucharist and Tradition/Scripture to Protestants and answer New Age ideas. It is grounded in scripture, tradition and valuable church father quotations.
I can say that I have applied its ideas to debate Jehovah Witnesses successfully and was appreciative of the assistance it gave me in doing so. (They know their scripture so be prepared) I have also been able to apply its content towards Muslims with success although I don’t think its arguments are as strong as those for other groups.
The content on how to answer Protestants is probably the best and most relevant. I find being able to answer Protestants objections can solidify my own faith and help answer fallen away Catholics in my family who often pick up mainstream arguments against the faith as a reason not to come back.
This series is grounded in humility starting out with 1 Pet 3:15-16. “But sanctify the Lord Christ in your hearts, being ready always to satisfy every one that asketh you a reason of that hope which is in you. But with modesty and fear, having a good conscience: that whereas they speak evil of you, they may be ashamed who falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.” I respect that. You wont get anywhere if you are not respectful to others.
Get prepared to study and memorize scripture, which is probably the hardest point of mastering these books and their ideas which are otherwise presented in clear and understandable paragraphs.
I am grateful for this series, especially as a man because they gave me an opportunity for fellowship and a chance to defend the faith.
Overall highly positive. (I just wish they had a booklet defending Vatican II)
